Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA)
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is dedicated to excellence within the management accounting and financial management professions. One of IMA's most valuable member benefits is its sponsorship of the CMA and CFM programs. These programs are administered by the ICMA.

Certified Management Accountant
The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation was developed by the ICMA in 1972 to provide an objective measure of the individual's knowledge and competence in the field of management accounting. Only the CMA program recognizes the unique proficiencies required for success in this challenging profession.

Certified in Financial Management
The CFM recognizes the unique skills, experience, and knowledge of the financial management professional. The ICMA has created the CFM Program to provide an objective measure of an individual's knowledge and competence in this field.

Sponsorship
The Financial Management Association (FMA) is a cosponsor of the CFM exam. FMA is a non-profit organization that serves the finance community through a number of activities, including educational forums, research on important financial issues and the publication of several financial journals. Membership consists primarily of academicians and students, but includes practitioners as well. The FMA will work with the IMA to keep the CFM program current with changing corporate needs, as the fields of corporate accounting and finance continue to change.
